This course introduces safe manual handling principles and practical techniques to help reduce the risk of injury when lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving loads in the workplace. It is relevant across many industries and supports safer day-to-day working practices — not just construction; this course is designed to be relevant in all walks of life.

Staff involved in lifting, carrying, pushing, or moving materials, including operatives in construction, highways, warehousing, and maintenance roles. This course is offered to everyone in every industry, including office-based staff — not just construction.

Learners should have no injuries or disabilities that would prevent completion of the practical assessment
A good understanding of the English language
PPE required for practical exercises: safety footwear and gloves
