NPSBS Training

What is this course?

This course gives learners the required knowledge to safely install, inspect, maintain, or repair non-proprietary safety barrier systems (NPSBS), including terminals and transitions used in the OBB, DROBB, TCB, UCB, and RHS systems. It has been developed in discussion with industry relating to these 'legacy' VRS non-proprietary safety barrier systems, and combines classroom learning with a familiarisation walk-round of non-proprietary systems installed at AJ's training school, including a fault-finding exercise.

Written theory tests, one per system (5 systems = 5 tests), plus fault-finding and component recognition. Pass mark: 80% per test, and 80% overall.

Renewal: a 1-day re-assessment/refresher course is available if taken within 5 years of the original 3-day course, priced at £250 + VAT and also available online. If certification lapses beyond that, the full 3-day course must be retaken.

• Must have completed both the NHSS 10B Foundation course and the NHSS 10B Installer course
• Minimum age: 18
