What is this course?

This UK Rural Skills course provides competence-based training for anyone who needs to safely select, inspect, prepare, operate, maintain, and store handheld power tools in the workplace. Handheld power tools are widely used across construction, maintenance, facilities management, land-based industries, utilities, and manufacturing — incorrect equipment selection, inadequate maintenance, poor technique, or missing risk controls can result in serious injury, equipment damage, or legal non-compliance. The course builds the knowledge and judgement needed to operate power tools correctly and safely, including relevant regulations, pre-use checks, and occupational health.

You can resit as many times as needed — there's no limit.

No — tools are provided by the instructor. You'll need appropriate clothing and footwear for the practical exercises.
